The museum is on the National Mall. There are many hotels in Northwest DC that aren't terribly far from the Mall. I suggest you search for hotels on this site and locate them on the map in relation to the National Mall. You won't have any trouble finding one. The other alternative is to find a hotel next to one of the Metro stops. Metro in DC is very efficient and easy to use. You will be able to travel to the National Mall easily on Metro.
