Pretty easy hike, but sublime views at the end. If you just have a day at Canyonlands, I'd pencil this hike in as a must do. Doesn't take a ton of time, but really puts you in some incredible places.… Full review by thezonda

We enjoyed our hike along this trail. It was not very crowded so that made it even better. Great views and a fairly easy trail. Full review by Ken Q

I am finding so much conflicting info on different sites. My question is, if we camp at airport which is only 19 miles into the WRT can we then drive on a little ways the next day and then turn around and go back the way we came? Otherwise we wouldn’t be able to finish the remainder of the trail in daylight hours. Also, are we the only folks going at this Alone? We have an appropriate vehicle but aren’t traveling with anyone else so unless other cars are on the trail we would be alone.

We just did White Rim Trail yesterday. We stayed at Fairfield Inn by Arches. Husband filled our SUV (a Toyota Land Cruiser) in Moab along with 10 gallons gas. We started trail at about 11am and with photo stops, etc got out a little before 10pm. Doing the narrow paths at night was a rush...very calculated risk Having side lights and lights above the windshield (driving light bar) helped a lot. He still wants to add ditch lights and mobile spotlight after this experience. From a novice he became an experienced off roader

HI, thinking of taking the white rim trail on our next trip.. Not biking or camping, just wanting to drive and explore. Looking for hikes and sights to make sure not to miss on route. Is it worth driving the whole thing or is there a good destination to drive to and turn around? We are staying in Moab and plan to just spend one day doing this. Want to make the most of it!

Hi, I don't know if this is trip is on your radar but I'll share a few thoughts. If you have a few hours, I'd go down Shafer Trail and turn out on Potash Road or go as far as Musselman Arch and then turn around and exit out Potash Road or go back up Shafer. If you have a whole day, I think the most scenic part of the trip is from Shafer Trail to just short of the White Crack Campground. There are several majestic views. If I weren't camping I'd probably go that far and then turn around but you're looking at 10+ hours. You get all the highlights but miss the two most dangerous hills. You could drive it all in one day but that would be so long that it would be pretty exhausting. I wouldn't recommend doing it in one day. Good luck.
